what you need to know…

Comprising of vocals, guitar, violin, accordion, musical saw, glockenspiel and an Indian drone box, SEAN SIMMONS & BRONWYN HENDERSON sing songs of pursuit, regret & hope.

They have released 3 studio albums with their band The Spoils, toured Europe four times and have played with the likes of Bonnie Prince Billy,  Catpower, Mick Harvey, The Church, Tex Perkins, The Drones, Kid Congo & the Pink Monkey Birds, The Flying Burrito Brothers  & more.

Henderson has also performed and arranged for some of Australia’s best musicians including Mick Harvey (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds/PJ Harvey), James Cruickshank (The Cruel Sea) & Marty Willson-Piper (The Church).

They have been residents of Reservoir since 2007 and have enjoyed watching the transition from 3am burnouts outside 7/11 to the arrival of hip cafés and restaurants. Their 8 year old son attends Reservoir West Primary School and plays Under 9’s for West Preston Roosters while their 4 year old twins enjoy all the offerings of the playground at the Lake.

One day they hope for the extension of the No. 11 tram to Edwardes Lake Park and beyond.

Controversially they pronounce their beloved suburb as [Res-erv-wah] arguing that other French derived words like “abattoir” and “film-noir” are pronounced as such. (OMG)
